Carronade The Yankee Sailor Carronade

The Sea is a choosy mistress. She takes the men that come to her and weighs them and measures them. The ones she adores, she keeps; the ones she hates, she destroys. The rest she casts back to land. I count myself among the adored, for I am Her willing Captive.

FLASH TRAFFIC:
I've relocated to a new Yankee Sailor.

The UN Wants to Tax the World

Just ran across a policy paper outlining the UN's plan to get global taxation authority and appropriate $7 billion from the producers of the world.

Many of these global tax and spenders have even loftier goals.

The defenders of the tax, like Canada's Halifax Initiative, estimate that 150 to 300 billion dollars a year could be collected and earmarked for social and environmental programmes - sufficent, they say, to eliminate extreme poverty in the world in 10 years.
Two words for that: fat chance. And George Soros loves it, so there must be something wrong with it.
