Technical Difficulties

If you're a regular visitor, you're probably surprised to be here. So was I this morning when I tried to log on. A couple of months ago I had to cancel a credit card because of some suspicious charges and my domain name failed to renew automatically. The problem is fixed now, but it will take about 24 hours for the restoration to propogate through the Internets.

I'm a Christian, husband, father and American, in that order. I write occasionally for Navy Times, Proceedings, Armed Forces Journal and a number of blogs and hold degrees in management and national security studies with a focus on the Middle East. As a 23-year veteran of the U.S. Navy and Navy Reserve, I attained the rank of Commander, deployed five times for four different conflicts and served as a Foreign Area Officer and a Surface Warfare Officer. During my 7 years working in the private sector, I worked in the fields of information technology and publishing and even ran for public office once. I am currently a Professor of Security Studies and volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America.
